This year the Batbusters stepped up to take home the 16U Gold bracket championship, defeating a very talented Gold Coast Hurricanes team by a score of 9-1. #ocbatbusters Interthal had another strong showing at scenic city this year. Competing against teams from WA, IL, IN, TN & AL we put our defense on display allowing 7 runs in 5 games while our offense put up a respectable 22 runs.
Game 1 - vs AL Firecrackers 04. We came out swinging and never looked back in this game scoring often and early as we ran away with the first game 9-1
Game 2 - vs Tn Ballhawks 04. This game was a defensive struggle with masterful pitching on both sides. The ballhawks got the better of us in a 2-0 loss.
Game 4 - Washington Shock 04. This was a back and forth game that you wish you could turn the clock off and see go for 7 innings. #17DeirdreFlaherty came up big with a 225’ bomb over a 9ft fence but in the end uncharacteristic defensive miscues cost us this contest 4-3.
Game 5 - Hitting Center 04. Our final game was against an undefeated team out of Illinois. The Batbusters displayed resilience and #23malenatoth was dominating in the circle from start to finish as we defeated the eventual pool champs by a score of 3-1.
Overall an impressive showing against some great competition. Next up Carolina Cardinals Premier Team Camp in 2 weeks.
***TNT MidAtlantic Invitational Showcase***

We finished with a 3-1 record scoring 29 to 10 allowed, including 35 hits, 15 extra base and 5 OTF HR’s.

#ocbatbusters Interthal is excited to announce the final addition to our 20’-21’ (15U) squad.
#5samibewick is a former baseball player that has only recently made the switch to Fastpitch. Her hustle and tireless work ethic on and off the field will be a welcome addition to the squad. At the plate she has prototypical size and power making our dangerous line up even deeper. As a middle infielder no ball is out of her range and no throw is too far or too late to make. Her athletic ability and determination to make plays will strengthen our outfield as well. Welcome Sami!
#ocbatbusters Interthal is excited to announce the next addition to our 20’-21’ (15U) squad.
#2madiekessler is a wall behind the plate and brings a cannon of an arm that will be throwing out base runners who dare to challenge her. Her glove work and arm will strengthen our “hot corner” as well. At the plate Madie’s bat packs a big punch and adds more home run power to an already dangerous line up. Welcome Madie
Triple Crown Summer Nationals. #OCBatbusters Interthal finished 4-3. Win or lose, the Batbusters played COMPETITIVE ball against top programs In the country including; Atlanta Vipers, LLG, EC Bullets, GA Power, VA Glory, Intensity & Force.
For the week we out hit our opponents by a 2 - 1 ratio and out scored our opponents 35-24. Pitching hovered around a 2.0 ERA with each pitcher on our squad recording a Win in nationals.
Overall we achieved our goal of 100 games this season and finished out 14U with a record of 74-25-2 and look forward to competing at 16U next season
Batbusters started strong in pool play defeating the Firecrackers & Atlanta Premier. However in bracket play, for the first time in 17 tournaments this season, were sent home early as we didn’t break out our “A game” early enough in bracket play.
If you aren’t winning you’re learning. For 10 hard working girls they COMPETED in the 100° heat against the top national programs in the country including; Tampa Mustangs, Atlanta Premier, Intensity, and Firecrackers(FL). While not the result we have come to expect, from this Championship environment we learned what it takes to go from a good team to a great one.
Thanks to William Hoopes and Jason Gusaeff for hosting a fantastic regional championship. Congrats to Batbusters Brooks who won the championship.
#OCBatbusters Interthal will finish out our 14U season at Triple Crown East Coast Nationals - Myrtle Beach in 10 days.
#OCBatbusters Interthal 14U achieved a team milestone of 68 wins, eclipsing last year’s season total of 66. Congratulations to this well rounded group of girls who have pushed themselves through a schedule designed to introduce steadily increasing levels of elite competition.
Wins 64 - 68 came playing up to 16U in WV at the USA Softball - MoTown Mayhem tournament this weekend. We finished with a 4-2 record good for a 3rd place finish(out of 18 teams) scoring 35 and allowing 8 runs over 6 games. Our pitching and defense dictated the pace which featured 3 shut outs and 2 signature victories; a 5-0 shut out against Team Virginia Mizuno 16U and a convincing 5-1 Victory over Pittsburgh Nitro Showcase 16U.
We look forward to competing against some of the best teams in the country at the PGF SouthEast Region Championships In Orlando, FL this coming weekend
OCBatbusters Interthal traveled to Charlotte NC/SC border for the PGF Southern Showdown. We finished the weekend undefeated with a 4-0-1 record. Unfortunately lightning and heavy rains came during the semifinal round and cancelled the balance of the tournament. As one 4 remaining teams we stake our share of the title of “Queens of the South” along with Carolina Elite (Church & Kennedy) & Carolina Shockwave.
Thanks to PGF Director Ed Hatch & Diamond Direction for putting on another great PGF event! We look forward to a well deserved 4th of July weekend off. Batbusters raised our record to 64-16-1 for the season.
In order to fulfill the goals of playing at the next level, our athletes understand that, first and foremost, their academics must be in order. Congratulations to OC Batbusters Interthal for completing the 2019-2020 school year with a team GPA of 3.99!
OCBatbusters Interthal 14U showed incredible heart this weekend at the Summer Starter Showcase in Youngstown, OH. After a slow start on Fri/Sat the Batbusters ripped off 7 back to back to back to back to back to back to back wins in a row, covering 13 consecutive hours of softball with no breaks. By the end of Sunday the girls willed themselves to a 10-5 victory over a resilient Stingrays team in the championship game.
This weekend featured:
7 game win streak in one day
106 runs scored
team batting average of .419
12 OTF home Runs
11 very tired girls
Batbusters raised their record to 55-15 and secured their 5th championship of this season
OCBatbusters Interthal had a great start to our summer season, showing off our skills to a host of D3 schools at the D1 Super Select Showcase this weekend. After 104 days without softball, we shook the rust off by facing a very challenging schedule that included; Outlaws, Lasers, ROC elite, Turnin 2, & Thunder Elite. We finished with a 5-2 record scoring 68 runs over 7 games.
Batbusters raised our record to 44-13 for the season.
OCBatbusters Interthal traveled to Medina Ohio to defend our Pinnacle Sports National Qualifier championship. For the third consecutive tournament Batbusters walked away undefeated champions, this time scoring 45 runs to 2 allowed. All phases of the game were working including 2 complete game shut outs and 4 home runs.
Batbusters raised our record to 32-9 for the season.
BACK to BACK! OC Batbusters Interthal traveled to Thiel College for their annual winter indoor tournament. We went 4-0 on the weekend and defeated a very stout Pittsburgh Spirit Premier Elite squad 13-4 in the championship game, bringing home 1st place hardware for two consecutive tournaments. Congrats to our girls as they continue to work and grow together as a team.
Batbusters raised their record to 27-9 for the season
Champions! Lady Irish Winter Slam - Toledo, OH.
While the OC Batbusters Interthal returned from Toledo undefeated(4-0) and tournament champions this weekend, we also came home with something even more important than hardware. We came home with a TEAM. Even though every girl on our roster is an individual rock solid talent, this weekend they exhibited the dedication, sacrifice and belief in each other to make a mortar bonding those rocks together and becoming stronger than the sum of the individual players. Great job ladies! Our coaches and parents all look forward to seeing your continued growth as we progress through this season.
Batbsuters defeated Wizards Havoc Gold 05 by a score of 7-4 to win the championship. #OCBatbusters raised their season record to 23-9 this weekend.
Even though it was cold, the Batbusters brought the hot bats to Tennessee for this national showcase. Our initial contest was a backyard brawl as the Batbusters bested the Lasers 11-4 featuring 5 extra base hits by the Batbusters to get us started.
Our next contest was a heavy weight matchup against vs the NC Bandits 05, after going toe to toe all day the Batbusters delivered the knockout blow in the last inning ending with a 4-3 victory.
For Saturday's final 8PM game, the sun set and temperatures cooled, and unfortunately It was the Birmingham Vipers who came out with the hot bats. Batbusters had seven hits in this competition but in the end could not string together enough timely hits to battle back, dropping our first game of the weekend 7-2.
Sunday served up the Sarasota Heat 05 and the Batbusters returned to form with 11 hits, 5 of them extra base hits, to run away with this one with a score of 7-3.
Our final game of the weekend was against the Indiana Fusion Elite 05. We tip our visors to this squad as they were able to slowly build a lead on the Batbusters. Unlike our PGF championship performance in Charlotte, the clock ran out in the bottom of the fifth with a runner on 2 and 1 out, preventing another last inning come back and the Fusion held onto this game by a score of 7-3.
Overall the Batbusters had a solid showing in front of roughly a dozen college coaches. Our record of 3-2 for the weekend earned us second place in our pool. Among the 15 very strong teams representing OH & PA at this National tournament, Batbusters can boast the 2nd best record out of 15 teams (tied with OH Stingrays).
Batbusters look forward to competing in our indoor schedule for the next few months.
Batbusters - Only 14U team in PA or OH to win a PGF Tournament
Batbusters travelled to the Charlotte Area, and just over the border to Cherry Hill, SC to test our resolve against some stiff PGF competition from the Carolinas. Batbusters walked away undefeated Tarheel Classic Champions defeating Team NC, NC Intensity, Smash-house, Carolina Cardinals.
In the Championship game we faced a very strong Smash-house team once again, successfully knocking in 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning, for a 2-1 walk off championship game victory.
Our powerful offense kept on pounding the ball this weekend, and featured 4 OTF home runs.
With this Championship, Batbusters became the only team from PA or Ohio to win a PGF tournament this season.

They did it again! For the third time in three weeks the only one who is able to eliminate the Batbusters from bracket play is Mother Nature.
Batbusters travelled to Penn State this weekend for the Happy Valley Spring Explosion finishing with a 4-2-1 record. Once again the Batbusters made it to the championship game only to have our first batter stranded on first due to heavy rain and hail. For the seventh time this year we took home more hardware. This weekend they were awarded second place based upon our performance leading up to the championship game.
Batbusters raised our record to 54-19-1 for the season.
This weekend, the Batbusters travelled to Cleveland, OH to play in the PGF Super Select Showdown. After dropping two close games to Team Long Island and NJ Pride in Friday pool play, the Batbusters battled for 18 hours through a grueling bracket schedule, facing top teams from New Mexico, Indiana, & Michigan(2) this weekend to survive bracket Saturday.
DeMarini Pittsburgh Batbusters remained in the hunt along with Beverly Bandits, KC Stealth, Michigan Legacy, Lady Lightning Gold, Delaware Cobras, Team Long Island, & Indiana Dreams.
Unfortunately mother nature would not cooperate and bracket finals on Sunday were cancelled and a champion was unable to be crowned. We were proud to represent our region as the only team from either PA or OH to not be eliminated in bracket play. The weekend was highlighted with a milestone in the form of a 15-3 victory over Motor City Madness, serving as our girls 50th win of this young season
Thanks to PGF & Jeff Macdonald for hosting a fantastic tournament.
Batbusters raised our record to 50-17 for the season.
Batbusters travelled to Youngstown, OH for YTown Mayhem Tournament this weekend. While the weather was uncooperative, our Thunder elite hosts were able to accommodate Saturday pool play before Sunday bracket play was washed out.
Our pool consisted of three of the toughest teams we may face all season. We opened with a 2-1 victory over Team 23 (Consisting of players from lasers, OH Hawks & OH Outlaws). Followed by a 5-1 victory over Total Sports(a mix of MI Finesse and Stingray players) and finally we capped Saturday with a 10-1 victory over OH Lightning (04&05)
Our 3-0 record this weekend was good for a #1 seed and a claim to a co-championship for this weekend.
Batbusters raised our record to 47-14 for the season

37 degrees and loving it!
The Michigan Legacy Tournament represented our first PGF sanctioned tournament of the season. The field of teams was comprised of our strongest competition to date, including 8 of the top 10 - 14U teams in the state of Michigan.
The Batbuster girls battled all weekend, facing adversity in the form of, <37 degree F temperatures, a broken bone, multiple injuries, more HBP's than the first 20+ games combined, lightning, rain, snow, hail and change of venues between outside dirt and inside turf between innings. Never wavering, the Batbuster girls walked away with a respectable 3-2 record for the weekend, securing signature victories over Michigan Finesse, Motor City Madness and Turnin' 2 each being storied programs within the state of Michigan.
